There's nothing quite like having children tell the story of the first Christmas. And there's nothing quite like having the children of East Weymouth Congregational Church tell the story of the first Christmas.

In the Christian tradition, Advent is the season of waiting and anticipation for the birth of Christ. That season continues next Sunday, Dec. 17, when we will light the third of four candles on our Advent Wreath, which signifies Joy. And unbridled joy is the theme of our Christmas pageant.

The Rev. Gretchen Elmendorf, pastor, will deliver a special message relating Scripture to this time of waiting and yearning for Hope, Peace, Joy, Love.

By the way, we welcome ALL children ANYTIME.

No matter who you are, or where you are on life's journey, you're welcome here.

Join us at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, to find out what it's all about.

Thanks to all who contributed so generously to the school supply collection. So many cool backpacks among the other great stuff piled in our blue baskets.

In Oct. M and O has its hands out again, this time we will be collecting toiletries and other items for the Veterans Hospital in Brockton. A list of needed items will be emailed to you and posted in the chapel. Thank you so much. We really are a giving and thoughtful congregation.
