East Weymouth

Congregational Church,

United Church of Christ

We are here for you

Our hearts and prayers go out from our church, East Weymouth Congregational Church, as we learned of this horror during our time of prayer in our service and were gripped with shock and devastated as we know you are too. With pain in our hearts, we pray for this brave police officer and Veteran Michael Chesna who was killed, for his family, for his courageous brothers and sisters in blue across Massachusetts and our country, especially for our Weymouth Police. We pray also for Vera Adams who was killed and her family.

We pray for citizens, medical personnel, first responders, town leaders who bravely helped and self sacrificed. Prayers for all those whose lives are shattered by senseless violence and prayers for protection of our protectors, the WPD. We cry out “why?” “For we do not know how to pray as we ought but the Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words.” Romans 8:25 May Almighty God bless and comfort powerfully and mercifully Michael Chesna, Vera Adams, their families and the many grieving in our beloved town of Weymouth. May light perpetual shine upon Officer Chesna and Ms. Adams and bring them into eternal life and everlasting peace. Amen.

I and our church members are here for any of you who need support as our town grieves in shock and deep sadness.
