From Rev. Gretchen “Would you join me in praying for our South Shore leaders and citizens who are trying to keep Weymouth and the South Shore safe from more toxic air pollution and the onslaught of ‘incineration zones’ where many children and families live? Please pray for strength for Alice Arena & Fore River Residents Against the Compressor Station, Mayor Bob Hedlund, town staff, our councilors, especially Becky Haugh, Sen. Patrick O’Conor, Rep. Michael Murphy & all our south shore elected officials, Andrea Honore, our journalists uncovering what’s at stake. I am praying for you in fighting this good fight, this David v. Goliath moment. We are an incredible town of leaders.
Faith matters too. You all are undoubtedly on the side of taking a moral stand and showing ethical leadership over selfish greed and corporate cover ups. And I believe you are doing God’s work in fighting for environmental Justice. You are Protecting the lives of our women, men, children, teachers, students, motorists of the Fore River bridge, merchants, pets, & local wildlife all Within the incineration zone and breathing that already toxic air. May the spirit of justice Embolden and hearten you all. I pray also for our protection as a town. May we all pray with our feet and action in fighting this would be devastation with you and strive to keep our town safe for its people.
